Soothing A Bruised Soul

Sunday June 9, 2013
Morning Clouds
Sun Breaking Through

Last night two of my sisters, their husbands and my niece came by for a visit.  They stayed for dinner.  We don't get to see each other that often.  It reminded me of the weekly Sunday dinners we had when we were younger.  Nice memories.

I have been struggling with severe mind turbulence for the past few days.   Writing helps sort through my thoughts, as does talking things over with Ross.  He reminds me of all the ways that I am a good person.   That is a soothing salve for the tender bruises that I seem so intent on inflicting upon my soul.

The beach usually helps to quiet our minds.
But obviously, hundreds of others had the same idea.

The life guard who mans this stations is known as Captain America.  Apparently,  he has been working this same location for a lot of years.

Belmar was also having their annual Seafood Festival today.

This obviously was not the right place to find peace and quiet, but it certainly was a distraction.

    1. The beach we most frequent is about a 30 minute drive. Since there aren’t a lot of amenities at that end of the island, the beaches do not get as crowded.

  2. Ah, the beach. We haven't gone to the beach quiet yet...but we have the pool now.

When I need distraction...well, I don't know what to do now. I used to go for drives but there's so much traffic and stupid people around here that I don't like driving much. Hmmm...

    1. Yeah, I don’t like driving anymore either. People seem to change when they get behind the wheel. People talking on the cell phone is my pet peeve. Even though it is illegal in NJ, people still do it.

  3. Michael and I went out to the beach yesterday too. It was deserted. And gray and cool and lovely anyway. I plan to get out there at least once a week for the next 63 days.
